San Antonio

We can't seem to get enought of Gruene Hall. This place oozes history, you've seen in in the Movie "Michael" with John Travolta and just about every Country Music star worth his/her salt has performed here. The floors, doors, bathroom and bar seem to have stood the test of over 100 years of wear and tear without ever being replaced or repaired. Seems all you really need for a great venue is good music, friends, cold beer, and ....Texas.

Alton Collins simply rocked this night. We sat, drank listened and enjoyed every note.
Grist Mill in Gruene...simple food, prepared perfectly and served in an atmosphere that was spectacular. Once an old Mill, it provides a dramatic backdrop for a restaurant with limestone walls, exposed beams, fireplaces and several terraces overlooking the river. We were visited by a skunk, black cat and later a deer. Try the ribs, filet, or tuna....excellent.

No walk down the river in San Antonio is complete without getting insulted at "Dicks". We were sufficiently insulted, the food was great and the service "perfect". Paris hats, a San Antonio institution. If you are from Texas, this is where you get your hat. Nuf said.
Alamo, remember the Alamo!
